Veiled

adjective: wearing or covered by a veil.

Our Story

Veiled was born out of a strong conviction that the internet, and the individuals on it, to a very large extent, should be anonymous and private.

We live in a time where data breaches run rampant. With every breach, potentially millions of people's personal information is leaked and subsequently sold. While unfortunate, these breaches are something we should account for, and protect ourselves against.

The European GDPR became effective in 2018, giving individuals the "right to be forgotten", among others. While a step in the right direction, not all websites can comply with this law, and verifying compliance is downright impossible most of the time.

Veiled proposes the idea of the right to be anonymous. Many online businesses harvest far more information than strictly required, for instance, purchasing digital goods or services shouldn't require your address, unless it comes with a physical component.

You should not be required to needlessly provide excessive personal information. Therefore, we provide you with a digital veil - email and address information you can use anywhere you don't feel comfortable sharing your own.

We believe everyone has the right to be anonymous.
